Join us for a Potluck Fundraiser this Saturday, August 4th, 11:30am to 3pm at 1326 East Madison Park, Chicago, Illinois, 60615. This event is organized by People’s Action, Families Together — South Side and Disability Voters to raise money for reunifying families torn apart by the Trump administration at and near the US-Mexico border.

This is a fundraiser to assist families concretely, for instance, by raising money for bail while they pursue asylum claims and for transportation to bring children and parents together. This is part of a national solidarity effort organized by People’s Action.

RSVP to or (very preferably) text or call (949) 466-4248 if you would like to come and if you would like to bring anything, or just stop by!  Accessibility:  If anyone has difficulty getting up six steps, please let us know.

Please bring checks or cash if you can afford to donate financially.

If you are far away and/or want to find or host a different event, go to If you want to argue about what this has to do with disabilities, we can talk about it.

Please:  a) View this:
b) Consider how many disabilities that the US involvement in Central America during the 1980’s and beyond has caused, and how many disabilities family separations are causing now and in years to come.
c) Consider the hearts and minds that would do what has been done to these babies, toddlers, children, adolescents, mothers, fathers, and non-DNA link-able loving families, and what that means for disability issues.
